Oh Happy Day
Twenty minutes into dinner Gioia pipes up with, “I’ve got some interesting news, I found Black R2D2!” You would have been surprised at the amount of shock on our faces.
You see, we have been searching for Black R2D2 (aka. R2-Q5, aka. R2 ‘my brotha’) since December 13th. How do I I know? Because we are going through the Star Wars advent calendar. Daddy was not here on the 13th and missed seeing him. Usually the Legos are little models but every once and awhile you get a figure (still seeking Yoda Santa). R2 being one of the coolest yet I really wanted to see him but he was lost almost as soon as he was assembled. Today Gioia found him hidden in a lil snowman box used for Christmas. We are so happy to welcome R2 back among his other fellow Lego figures and so proud of G for finding him. (Seriously, things are a lil weird around here right now). Now that we have made the child as OCD as Daddy we can start looking for the missing Princess Leia.
It should also be noted that even though Black R2D2 was lost this did not prohibit me from making racially inappropriate comments such as, “Squeek, Sqwak, My Homie!”

It started with Tickle Me Elmo (Really Tickle Me Zoey). The lil orange doll would shake and laugh when you squeezed it. G was paranoid. She would run screaming from it. Then there was Auto Bubble Stitch who blew bubbles by raising and lowering his arm. Nope. G even knew which closet we hid him in and would not go near it. Lately it is two bath toys: One is a duck with a fish in his mouth that kicks when you pull the fish out and this one, Mr. Turtle who we thought she would love because she loves turtles and loves swimming.
Nope. She won’t even go to that side of the tub because the turtle is there.
I am kind of torn between scooping her in my arms to soothe her fears and threatening her that if she does not eat, Mr. Turtle will come get her and we will go dig Zoey out of the trash (don’t worry Grandma, J.K.). Instead we have tried reason and bang the toy around showing her the screws and taking it apart like Lego. So far no progress.
Any advice would be welcome? Seriously tell me, or I’ll sick Stitch on you!

Playmobil Security Check Point
My friend Amy sent me this a few weeks back. If you have not seen it over on Amazon you need to check it out. I was mostly shocked that they charge $55 for this and that they even make it at all! But as Amy pointed out to me, the comments are what make this item the most interesting.

Kicking and Screaming
So, today we had tons of errands. One of those of course was to head to Toys R US to see the new Star Wars Lego. (I can hear my friend Jack sighing now.) Don’t worry I won’t bore you about that. The important part here is the Lego table in the Lego section. G loves it! She played with all the kids and loved digging through the bowl of Legos. So, much so that I was caught thinking, “How can I build this for her?” She as very good at sharing handing piece after piece to her new friend who was building away. While I enjoyed her being occupied so I was free to view the latest products, after 10 minutes it got old and I was ready to go. She was most definitely not. I had to rip pieces out of her hand and drag her away. Barbies be damned, she would not be distracted. Even on the other side of the store after multiple spins she was still trying to walk back over there.
Lego? Where can I buy your kids table?

Fun and Pointless
Crawling around the internet today I stumbled upon Wordle.net. Not sure what the point is, but it is quite fun. Basically you upload/paste a bunch of text (or link to del.icio.us) and it breaks out what the most used words are and presents them graphically. Maybe I should use this for my MBA notes and see how many “uhmmms” the professor said. If you have a good use for this let me know.
P.S. Does anyone find it odd that “LEGO” is much larger than “jobsearch”??? :)
